Jane's Tears

The titles, images, text, and names have been changed to protect the original work.
The Semper Fidelis team asked me to help create a pitch deck military docu-series with real photos and stories. Showcasing an inside look at what war really looked like to the soldiers, and the people it effected.
The project uses images and footage of the real life event, having a unified look through out the project was key.
We went for a yellow bleach by pass color style for the project, drawing from the reference productions, to help in maintaining the tone consistency.
I was given a lot of room to play on this pitch. Especially with the H.U.D. elements, I was able to add in a few cool touches, like Morse Code with common Marine quotes, and text from the project hidden in the binary overlay.
I also added some flavor text to each page of the pitch to give them more context and texture.
Semper Fidelis already had a website hosting their sizzle reels in a password protected environment. Once the pitch deck was completed the website no longer reflected their new look and feel.
I wanted to create a website that not only looked like the new pitch document, but also felt like the story was unfolding as they scrolled.
With that in mind I took some shots from the sizzle reel and paired it some of the text in the document, so that as the visitor scrolls the section of the sizzle reel would play with the text.
As not to detract from the main content, animations were kept to small movements like subtle animations in some of the H.U.D. elements.
We also streamlined the NDA signing process in an easy to fill form, which generated an e-signature ready contract.
Once signed the team could then create a login code for the user to see the rest of the website.
The feedback on the project has been positive, with a prospective network commenting;
"This is one of the best pitches we've seen in a long time. From your pitch to your website, we can tell you guys really know what you're doing."
